Description
The first story in a new picture book series for elementary school children. As Stacey opens the door to the fridge proclaiming her hunger, all the occupants of the stacked fridge begin arguing who should go first. Juices, vegetables, salad or soup, all of the healthy foods just can’t agree. Meantime Stacey is chagrined. All she wants to do is eat dinner. Stacey sulks out of the kitchen disappointed and still starving. The expressive illustrations with bright colors leap off the pages to enchant young readers. While being entertained with fun rhymes, children will learn about the benefits of each food and discover ways to combine them with delicious treats.
The story begins with Frank the Fridge, who is very full, and along comes a hungry Stacey. The contents within the fridge all vie to be the one to ‘feed Stacey first,’ but what is very clever is the way in which this book weaves in the goodness and benefits from eating the range of glorious foods on offer. This is a story you would read over and over to your children as it really does bring an understanding of the foods we eat and may even tempt them to try new things! At the end of the book, children can try a few recipes and even create their very own coloring page. Recommended as a unique way to entertain and instruct children about good nutrition.
